HEALTH NOTICE
Rains County Appraisal District has prepared 2020 Notices of Appraised Value for all non-commercial properties. These notices should be mailed on or around April 15, 2020. That will open the window for property owners to conduct informal meetings with their appraiser before formal protest. At this time informal protest meetings with appraisal staff will be conducted by scheduled phone appointments after notices are mailed. To make an appointment to speak with your appraiser, please call 903-473-2391, Please be sure to have your property ID number available. Once you have scheduled a phone call you may submit any documents to that appraiser’s email. Our staff will not be doing on-site appointments at this time.
After notices have been mailed, if you wish to file a formal protest to the Appraisal Review Board there are several options available for submission. Protest can be filed on-line at our website Rainscad.org, by mail and there is a mail slot on our front door available. Please be sure to include a phone number, so that the appraiser can call if there are any questions.
